My Favourite Restaurants in Exeter - Krystal Ong

Feeling homesick? Craving for some home comfort food? No worries, Exeter has it all!

Below, I will be talking about some of my personal favourites.

1. IFood Thai Taste

For all the Thai food and spice lovers out there, do give IFood a try! It is located along Sidwell street, about a minute or 2 walk from The Kingfisher accommodation and The Printworks accommodation. The food here is the closest to authentic that you could possibly find in Exeter and most importantly, it is affordable for us, students. The average price here is about £10 per pax. Not only its affordable, they also have a wide range of choices to choose from on their menu. BUT do bear in mind that, they only accept cash payments. In the event that you do not have any cash and want to try this amazing restaurant, do not worry! There is a cash machine just opposite the restaurant, how convenient!

My go-to order here would be the Tom Yam Soup and Pad Thai, these will never go wrong, 100% recommend!!

*Bonus point: the staffs here are all very nice and friendly! Service are very efficient as well!*

2. Di Tea

For all the bubble tea lovers out there, Di Tea is the only proper bubble tea shop we have in Exeter BUT they have a wide range of bubble tea flavours to choose from! The average price for one cup of bubble tea is about £5 and this shop is located along Howell Road, just opposite BHL Oriental mart.

I would highly recommend their signature homemade fruit tea. It is very refreshing and different from the usual bubble teas. Also, my go-to order would be their Original Milk Tea with pearls or Fruit tea!

Howell Rd, Exeter EX4 6AB, United Kingdom

Opening Hours:

Monday – Saturday: 12pm – 7pm

3. Tea On The Green

Tea on The Green is probably the best local cuisine. It is not only affordable; it also has a nice view of the Exeter Cathedral. They also serve traditional Devonshire high tea daily from 2.30pm onwards at £23 per pax and the average price of their normal English cuisine is about £12. This place is one of my favourites because the atmosphere is great, restaurant feels cozy and the staffs are very friendly. Sometimes, they offer student discounts as well, do check it out!!!

2 Cathedral Cl, Exeter EX1 1EZ, United Kingdom

Opening Hours:

Monday – Sunday: 8am – 5pm

4. Taco-Macho

This Mexican food place is located along Fore street about 5 minutes’ walk away from High Street (the city centre). This place is a GEM!! The owner is super friendly and nice, the portion is very generous and of course super affordable. Its average price is about £8 and the only down-side is that we cannot dine in. Very suitable for students!
